TOKYO AUTO SALON 2006 FEATURE From OPTION / JDM-OPTION [2006.01]

			A machine built purely for driving is this new concept model Z. Tuned all the way up to 350 horses, the suspension, aero kit, and small details such as the bucket seats greatly enhance the driving experience. The vehicle was engineered to adapt to the driver's surrounding environment, whether it's a famous race track, or a simple driving school. It's still being discussed whether the parts will be sold separately.

			We found a limited edition Z ready to be released at the Nissan booth. This vehicle was officially announced to be released the day before the Auto Salon. The machine will include Rays rims with super wide 245/40-18 front and 265/35-19 tires. To house the widened stance, the fenders were extended +25mm on the front and rear. This model is available until May 31st of this year, and the price tag ranges from roughly $40K for the 6spd or the 5 spd AT model. (Japan pricing)

			Although the exterior was dressed up with a sporty aero kit, the real potential of this vehicle lies in the engine. This new civic was transplanted with a Integra Type R K20A and on top of that, a supercharger system was added. This high powered sedan also has a 6 speed gearbox, and their plan of the car being released is still tentative. There is a chance Mugen might release supercharger kit in the near future.

			This Civic was based off of the hybrid model. The sporty look was applied to this car even though it is a hybrid model. The best feature of this machine is the electrically active body components. The front spoiler, rear wing, and the diffuser adjusts according to the speed. This increases the cornering abilities by properly utilizing wind resistance. There are no plans of this car hitting the market just yet.

			When this machine was debuted at the Auto Salon, it was still being developed. But according to Toyota's website, this special vehicle is scheduled to be released as a Toyopet 50th anniversary model. The supercharged 320 hp engine was developed by Tom's and Modelista. Aimed at the adult enthusiasts, the interior was cleanly coordinated with the rest of the vehicle.

			Planned to be released for sale after the Auto Salon, the new Estima was proudly displayed on the Auto Salon floor. Not only the exterior styling was upgraded but the engine was as well. A 3.5 liter V6 engine (same engine as Lexus IS350 & GS350) was fitted into this minivan for a total output of 280 hp! The second row seating can be slid all the way to the 3rd row for a limousine feel. The roomy seats also have reclineable leg rests included.

			MS stands for Mazdaspeed. This roadster was completely engineered by Mazdaspeed, created from using their vast motorsport knowledge. The exterior was fitted with a aero kit and 18 inch rims. The suspension includes Bilstein shocks and Endless Brakes, very much a street tuned vehicle setup. This Roadster may signify the dealerships starting to sell tuned cars in the future.

			The high performance X4 came equipped with a 4WD turbo setup was not really available to the general public. In other terms, it was available, but not listed for sale. The Boon is the successor model of the Storia. Tvhe 938cc engine was specially tuned to put out 140 hp. The power may seem low, but for a 950 kg (2000lbs) close geared vehicle, it is more than enough. The suggested retail price is $16.5k. (Japan pricing)
